Astrophotography

Astrophotography Working Group

Many celestial objects are incredibly photogenic when captured using the right equipment and under the right conditions. That is why our Astrophotography Working Group focuses on photographing these objects. A stable setup is essential, especially for capturing deep-sky objects such as star clusters, nebulae, gas clouds, and galaxies. Our high-quality telescopes and their stable mounts are particularly suitable for this purpose.

About the Working Group

Members of the working group have extensive knowledge in the field of astrophotography, which they are eager to share with others. They mainly gather when the weather is clear and there are no other activities planned at the observatory. This usually occurs during the autumn and winter when the nights are long and dark, providing optimal conditions for photography. The results of such gatherings can be regularly admired in our donor magazine "Copernicus Contacten." Additionally, they occasionally schedule dedicated evenings to share results and experiences among themselves.
