In the month of May 2025, for the first time the observatory will be open every Saturday afternoon from 13:00 to 16:00. You can then safely view the sun through our telescopes.
For years we doubted whether it still made sense to be open on evenings in May, since it only gets dark very late in the evening. That is precisely why we are trying something new: giving more attention to the sun. This is in fact the perfect time of year to look at the sun.
Now in 2025 the sun's activity is at its peak, so you can see many sunspots and solar flares. You can read about why that is in our exhibition at the observatory, which can still be seen until the end of May.
