On Saturday 28 October it is the Night of the Night, an annual celebration of the dark at the start of wintertime. As every year, we are specially open.
This year this celebration coincides with a partial lunar eclipse that begins at exactly 20:00 and ends at 00:28. It is rare for an eclipse to coincide so well with our opening hours!
However, this eclipse is only in the penumbra, so the moon does not turn blood-red but only a little darker. The partial eclipse is probably only clearly visible between 21:35 and 22:54.
We expect it to be EXTREMELY busy, and that is why reservations are required. Without a reservation we cannot let you in, because the observatory is likely to be full.
