Last year we spent the summer renovating the hall of our observatory. After the hard work and success of that renovation, time was made this year to tackle other parts of the observatory in the summer.
We worked on the entrance, dome and airlock with functional and cosmetic changes.
Airlock
In the airlock there were models of many space telescopes and rockets. These have been replaced with an exhibition about the electromagnetic spectrum and the space telescopes that capture its various parts.
Dome
In the dome we had big plans to do up the place. The old furnishings are gone so that there is more room for visitors, and all the woodwork has been painted.
Due to a lack of time, we will be making a few more changes in the coming months, such as new panels on the wall.
Entrance
Our entrance was painted too, this time the concrete of the walls and the metal doors. We hung up photos from our astrophotography working group, and have been able to make our hall wheelchair accessible with a ramp.
